The Best Locations for Last Minute Travel Vacations.

The best locations for last minute vacation travel can invariably be found on-line, as the Internet offers an instant showcase of available packages for trips leaving on short notice.  Cruise lines, travel agents or airlines offer last minute travel vacation plans, and are most normally affiliated with one or two  resort organizations. like Club Med.  Depending upon your proximity to an international airport, the airlines and Internet-based last minute vacation clubs offer the best deals for last minute vacations.  The best locations for last minute travel usually happen to be places affiliated with these bargain travel outlet businesses and airlines, as well as off-season deals at most tropical and all-inclusive resorts.

Online, there are websites like belairtravel.com, cabovillas.com, travelocity.com and expedia.com, along with many, many more, that will offer last minute deals to your desired location, depending mostly upon the time of year.  When in full tourist season, the likelihood of finding a last minute deal to your ideal location becomes miniscule, but there are still chances of last minute cancellations and empty seats.  Check all airlines that travel from your nearest international airports to see if they have any last minute deals for where you want to go.  If not, try websites that cater to last minute travel deals, and let your fingers do the walking with Internet browsing.

Cuba in July is just as beautiful as it is in February, however the escape from the dreariness of winter is the basic idea of going to Cuba, and other tropical islands in the first place.  Besides, in the summer, there is a very good chance of being stuck inside during a hurricane or tropical storm while vacationing in tropical areas.  The best locations for last minute vacation travel also depends upon what you like to do, from desolate beaches to major casinos, zip-lining over pristine rain-forests to bungee jumping over natural gorges.

There are many countries and regions that are experiencing major financial troubles, and will roll out the welcome mat for any trourist business, and bartering is now part of the process.  Places like the Caribbean, Haiti, Cuba (sorry, Americans, but it is really nice there), Peru (a bit dangerous in places, but inexpensive and beautiful), Mexico and Canada are all places that are great for last minute travel locations.  If you see a place that is advertising a lot for last minute deals, contact them and make an offer, they just may accept, or get back to you with a counter-offer.  If you have not visited Canada yet, there are accommodations and activities that cover basically anything that you would like to do, and at a very reasonable cost.

Depending upon your desires, and what prices constitute a deal for you, places like Taiwan, the South China Seas, Tibet, Australia, Samoa and Jamaica are all places that will accomodate the constant traveler with financial restraints.  When offered a price, simply tell the booking agent what your maximum price is, and they will find a deal for you.  No matter what the price of the vacation to the constant traveler, the airlines would much rather get something for the empty seats on their planes than nothing at all, and travel long distances with a bunch of empty seats.

Take advantage of any places that are having financial troubles or are in the tourist off-season, as those are the places where your traveling dollar will go further.

Travel safe, and travel smart.

What are some jobs that require a great deal of travel either domestically, internationally or both?
I’m researching possible job opportunities for professionals who enjoy life on the road. What are some examples of jobs and employers that require 50% or more travel from their employees. I have a proven background in sales/account management and possess a college degree with no travel limitations.

Answer by Sarah
I am in human resources and travel about 50% of the time. Some sales jobs & IT related consulting have frequent travel. Look for companies that have an international presence. Good luck!

I need a good site where I can get the best deal on a travel package?
I want to take a trip in summer 2009, going from Florida to California, and I will be 18 years old then. I need to purchase a plane/hotel package for a week and I want to find the best deal possible. I also need to find a travel site that will let me book a package at 18 and allow me to check-in to a hotel at 18. Anyone know any good sites that allow my age to purchase these packages?

Answer by bjohn4693
I.ve been lucky with expedia but I think you need a credit card and I don’t know about the age limit.

Answer by hello12
Expedia and Travelocity are two sites that specialize in travel packages.

Answer by David C
try www.cktravelplus.com – I know the folks that run it and they have some very good deals.

They are based in Florida, too!

Answer by cub6265
Expedia and Hotwire. AVOID Priceline! They will charge more than you can arrange on your own. They ripped me off twice and customer service could have cared less.

Answer by cjharper30
I always use this site (http://www.travelfhtm.com/Offroad )it has the best deals. I don’t know about the age delima. Hope this helped!

What is the best Orlando Travel deal?
I was wondering if anyone knows of any great deals for a vacation in orlando florida? I’m trying to take my kids on a great vacation but still be reasonable with prices. I’ve done a bit of research and found one:

http://whitecaplg.com/special/view/5

Do you guys think this a great vacation deal or know of anything even better?

Answer by Stan
The deal is that you will have to sit through a 90 minute presentation where they will try to sell you property. It sounds like you are single, but if you aren’t, they may not make the reservation if your spouse doesn’t come along. I used to go on these about once a year and I found the following phrase very helpful:

“I go on these all the time. I never buy.”

In Whistler, BC, that stopped the hard-sell in it’s tracks in the first 5 minutes. It’s a bargain.

A couple years ago I toured a Disney property just to get a special ticket that would allow me to get to the front of the lines.

Matt rings up a guy and tries to bargain with him to get the cheapest airline ticket.PLEASE NOTE: I in no way own these gotcha calls, all credit goes to Matt himself :) I just wanted to upload these so everyone else who either doesn’t listen to the radio or doesn’t download podcasts can listen to these on the internet.

Where should one look for the best travel deal to Bora Bora from the United States?
My wife and I are hoping to save for a trip to Bora Bora in June, 2009 or June, 2010. We would like a nice accommodation, probably a bungalo. We are open to any reasonable idea. We would like a trip that costs no more than $ 250 a night for both of us, plus air fare. What are good places to stay and how does one find them?

Answer by jellybeancounter
I just did a search on tripadvisor. They include average year-round prices for most hotels, and the Novotel Bora Bora Beach Resort seems to have one of the lowest prices. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g311415-d502990-Reviews-Novotel_Bora_Bora_Beach_Resort-Bora_Bora_Society_Islands.html

I’m not sure how the hotel is, but it’s considered to be a 3 star place. You can also check for private inns / b&bs; they will usually have a lower rate than the large hotels.

Good luck in your search! Bora Bora is absolutely beautiful, and I can’t wait to go back.

Answer by Vahinerii
Ia Orana,

I would suggest to have a look on deals available through a great online travel agency : easyTahiti.com.

For $ 250 per night you will be able to find great value accomodation in Bora Bora (depending on your stay duration).

Answer by Subycub
Southwest airlines flies between Chicago Midway to Ft Lauderdale and southwest is usually the cheapest. This would be good for you since you ‘re flying point to point.
Good luck :)

Answer by RStJames
Best bet is to check the websites for the different airlines, and try checking at different times of the day because sometimes it’s cheaper at certain times of the day.

Where can we find the best travel deal to Las Vegas? Need air and hotel for 2 adults, 1 child?
We want to go to Las Vegas for about a week and spend about 1000.00 for air and hotel, who has the best travel deals in your opinion? Thanks :)

Answer by blueonline
Vegas.com ?
priceline.com

Answer by MrsMouse
depends on where you are traveling from- Kayak.com is pretty good, but where you want to incorperate hotel and airfare I would try travelocity or orbitz- I book flights often and those two sites can save a lot of money- make sure you book them together (flight and hotel)

Also, last minute deals are great- check out those on the two websites

What service will give me the best travel deal for a flight + hotel + car from San Jose to San Diego?
Travelocity? Orbitz? Expedia? Something else.

I’m not willing to take just any hotel or flight. I want to be able to specifically pick from certain hotels and room types.

Answer by kjtmom4
The best thing for you to do is check the prices on all of those you mentioned and see where you can get the best deal. You might also check out www.ytbtravel.com/WeWin. I’ve been able to help a few people find a good deal from this site. Have a good trip!

What are the best cruises and cruise lines from NY?
Hello,

I am looking for recommendations for the best cruises that are based from New York. I am looking for 14 day cruises that go to the bahamas, or a tropical environment. Does anyone know the best cruises that start from New York?

Thanks so much.

Answer by Johan from Sweden
If its still around I would recomend ncl cruises to florida and bahamas. Other than that RCCL has a great service package and you can always go on a back to back transatlanic crossing with Cunard.

And as I always says: There is no such things as the best cruise and cruise line but there is the best cruise for you. Johan.

What are the catagory upgrades on cruises mean?
What are the catagory upgrades on cruises mean? Example: Get a free 4 catagory upgrade with this cruise.

Answer by Penny B
Pay for a 1A get a 6C for the same price. so to speak. Or pay for a 6B get a 9A

get an ocean view for an interior price

get a balcony for an ocean view price.

Answer by Time travler
It means the same size room, but closer to the middle of the ship. You see, most people prefer the middle of the ship because you feel less movement in the middle. So, these upgrades do not mean a whole lot. A good upgrade is like from a balcony to a mini suite, something like that.

Answer by Tivogal
cruises have different categories in the same level. it has to do with the accessability of the rooms the and the bigger rooms. if you re upgraded sometimes you get a bigger room, or a better location
(cc)

Answer by stepmiller2
Typically the upgrades are within the same category but higher up on the ship, so for instance you book and oceanview cabin on deck one and they bump you up to an oceanview on deck three. I have never heard of an upgrade on the same deck as everyone in the same type of room on the same deck pays the same price, so if you want to move just ask. Sometimes you can get a category upgrade but that is rare because of the financial costs. If you are a past guest your chances for a decent upgrade greatly imporove. I generally purchase the category I want with the cabin to be determined. As a past guest I have always ended up in better than the lowest priced location for the category I purchased, which is what I paid.

Answer by Barkley Hound
Cabins are priced based on location and view. An upgrade is done not as a favor to you but to sell more rooms. By moving you to a better room they can resell the lower price ones. I booked a room on the Golden Princess to Hawaii in January. I paid for a guarantee in class HH which is the lowest price outside cabin with an obstructed view. A couple of days later they assigned a room to me in class DD which is 8 categories up. It is now unobstructed and I probably saved about $ 800.
